Sometimes the end of the day routines can be very difficult and frustrating.  From cleaning up dinner, getting ready for the next day and preparing for bed, there can be many opportunities for battles and disagreements.  One constant in my house is that I amalwasy reminding the kids to brush their teeth - REALLY brush.  Typically they go in the bathroom, rub the brush over their teeth and move on. For sure they are not doing their mouth justice.  

I have found a solution to help with the battle of brushing.  I contacted the The Tooth Timer Company about their product, the Tooth Timer, and was given one to sample and use with the boys. It is immediately appealing because of its look.  It is a tooth! When I first showed the boys they were so intriqued and curious.  So the tooth works as a timer. You spin the top half all the way around and the buzzing begins!  As the kids brush, the timer clicks around for 2 minutes. The kids have learned that until the "tooth" buzzes they are not allowed to stop brushing. This one gadget has eliminated part of the argument that was bedtime.  The boys enjoy setting the timer and brushing with it.  If they leave the bathroom before the buzzer sounds, I simply remind them and they go back! It is no longer a nagging issue.  It is up to the tooth!
