To the team at #MyWalgreens,
Thank you so much for everything that each of you are doing, every day, during this difficult time. I'm sure that you never expected to be helping to keep your community afloat during a global pandemic when you filled out your job application!
As a parent (human and canine), I have learned that issues can pop up out of nowhere, like injured tails, tummy troubles, and poison ivy (to name a few!), regardless of how well-prepared that I strive to be. As a caregiver to a senior, I've known the unpredictability of prescription changes.
Walgreens really is a fixture in our lives that we probably took for granted in ordinary days. Walgreens has always been there for my family and I. It has been so easy to pop into the Norfolk Walgreens to retrieve my photos and grab some necessities after a delightful visit to the coffee shop next door, as well as on the way home from the train station. Walgreens is even where I purchased some of our wedding favors! (Conversation heart boxes, since my husband proposed with a candy heart.)
Today is not an ordinary day though, and we are trudging through a very strange time. I really appreciate that you are still working so hard every day to keep the stores open while much of the world is temporarily closed. It is so comforting to know that we are able to pick up our pharmacy needs when so many of our routines are disrupted. Thank you so much for carrying on while your life and family are experiencing the same challenges. Thank you for the extra care that you are taking to keep the stores so very clean and stocked. Thank you for creating special shopping times for our beloved seniors. Thank you for your patience with those that may still be taking you for granted, they are the exception. Hopefully others will read this, and remember to thank you too!
Thank you for being here for us, Walgreens. Sincerely, Ann
PS #1 I also wish to send a "shout out" to the Distribution Center team and drivers based out of eastern Connecticut that take such good care of our local stores!
PS #2 As we are sticking at home today, we are going to mail you a "real" thank you that my son and I made for you, please keep an eye out for it!
