It has been too long since my family has been able to wander around the cars at the Mass Cruisers Cruise Night, so of course we were so excited to be invited to check out the Hot Wheels Ultimate Drive-Thru at Gillette Stadium! Whether you are gearheads or not, the Drive-Thru is an entertaining, unique Covid-safe family outing.
We enjoyed our multi-sensory adventure with the amazing life-size, and larger-than-life-size, vehicles. The Drive-Thru is set up across from the Stadium/Patriot Place complex and was very well organized. We entered through an orange Hot Wheels-track loop. Our tour started with passing by all of the enormous trailers that transport the unique vehicles around the country, most of them with their own powerful personalities!
Much attention was paid to details of the displays, even down to the strings of orange and blue lights throughout. Each car or truck had a sign detailing the make, year, and interesting history of the vehicle. There were many more vehicles than I expected, with some extra cool ones towards the end, as well as a huge, attention-grabbing video screen.
One of my favorites was one of the smallest cars. You and your family will have fun trying to decide on which is yours!
Here are a few tips that I hope will be helpful for your visit:
๐ You will be able to see everything well on both sides. You can stop when you want to and drive at your own pace (the maximum speed is 5 mph). There did seem to be a few more vehicles on the lefthand (driver's) side though.
๐ Families with sunroofs in their cars had them open, allowing their kids to pop out of them like truck-loving gophers!
๐ There is a pull-off on the lefthand side towards the end for restrooms. We didn't try them out, but I believe that they would be appreciated if "nature" is calling to one of your kiddos.
๐ If you go across Route One to the Stadium, there is a monster truck, the "Super Trucker", near the west entrance to the Putnam Club where you could get out for a photo opp.
๐Take advantage of the discount code "TWINMILL" for a $35 admission ticket if you're planning on going on a Thursday or Friday
๐ You could extend your outing with a tailgate picnic after (byop or chose from the many options at Patriot Place) and then take a walk around the Cranberry Bog behind the Bass Pro Shops.
