A Note From Your Publisher: Info on Local Event Cancellations

Coronavirus means the situation is changing quickly

March 16, 2020

This is an uncertain time, and things seem to be changing by the day -- if not the hour -- with coronavirus and the reaction to it as health officials and the government try to slow its spread.

Most of our local events are being canceled and I have marked them as such on the events calendar as I hear about them. But I always recommend verifying event details with the venue before you attend, and it is especially important to do so right now as events may be canceled with little to no notice.

Macaroni Kid SW Boston will update our calendar as we hear of cancellations. For instance, Home Depot and Lowe's have canceled their kids' workshops nationwide for the time being, as have events at: Audubon sanctuaries, Blue Bunny Books, Jam Time Norwood, Launch Norwood, Norwood Hospital, Little Seeds, Rodman Arena, Tumble Beans, the Y, and all of our local libraries.  Many of our beloved local businesses and venues remain open but may temporarily have shorter hours or other restrictions.

If you hear of any event cancellations not reflected on the Macaroni Kid SW Boston events calendar, please reach out to me at Ann@macaronikid.com or on our #MacKidSWBoston Facebook page and I will update the calendar.

Please call 2-1-1 (in Mass.: 24 hours a day/7 days a week), and/or watch the CDC, the Mass. Department of Health [ mass.gov/covid19], and your local Health Department.s website for the latest news (see below)*.

And, of course, please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. (But please leave some toilet paper for the rest of us!)
