Dedham
✿ The Dedham Community House will be hosting a Christmas tree and wreath sale. "Saturdays and Sundays, December 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th,10am - 3pm. Masks and distancing required. Sanitizer available. Attendance numbers will be monitored. Private appointments also available during the week. Signups for private appts. will be available on the DCH website ...for Dec 1st - 4th." Foxboro
✿ The Hockomock Area YMCA in Foxboro has a Giving Tree in its lobby through December 1st. See more info. here.
✿ Foxboro's Boyden Library's Giving Tree is hung with tags containing gift card wishes for area children. Everyone is invited to select a tag, and return it to the Library with a gift card by December 9th.
✿ The Boyden Library is collecting new children's books (for ages 0 - 12 years) for its annual Book Drive through December 31st. See details here.
Medway
✿ The Medway Police have a drop-off site in their parking lot for their "Pursuit of Presents" and Santa Foundation Drive (more details here).
✿ Medway Rec. encourages everyone who lives along Saturday's Christmas Parade/Rolling Rally route to "LIght the Route" before the parade.
✿ Medway Rec. invites you to submit your home address if you would like it to compete in the "Medway’s Great Holiday Light Fight" (see details). Homes will be judged on December 10th from 6pm - 9pm.
✿ Medway Rec. invites children to send letters to Santa by placing them in the "North Pole Mailbox" (in front of the IDE House, 158 Main Street) by 5pm on December 13th. (See details here.)
Millis
✿ Millis Rec. is coordinating a "Holiday House Decorating Contest" for Millis residents. Submit a photo to them by December 14th! (more details ✿ Millis Rec. is holding an "Elf on the Shelf Photo Contest". Photos should be submitted between December 14 -18th (more info.
Norfolk
✿ The Norfolk Lions Club will be selling Christmas trees from 134 Norfolk Street.
✿ The Norfolk Public Library is a drop-off site for 'Toys for Tots'.
✿ The Rockwood Road playground has been refurbished and is now reopened.
Westwood
✿ The AAA office (335 Providence Highway) is hosting a Warm Clothing Drive where they will collect new and gently used winter clothing (hats/mittens/gloves/coats/scarves) and new socks for the local community from December 1st - 31st.
Wrentham
✿ The Wrentham Lions Club will begin selling Christmas trees after Thanksgiving at the lot behind the Wrentham American Legion on Route 1A (592 South Street).
✿ You may support the "Friends of the Fiske" Library in November by purchasing a reusable "Community Bag" at the Stop and Shop in Plainville.
✿ The new Jane D'Amico playground has opened at the Rice Fields Complex (54 Emerald Street).
Multiple Towns
✿ The Mass. Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren is now holding online support groups for grandparents/relative caregivers on the first and thrd Monday evenings of the month from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., as well as the first and thrd Tuesday mornings of the month from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. See our calendar for more details.
The Commission will also be hosting an online webinar entitled "Navigating Your Grandchild's Individualized Education Plan [IEP]" on Dec. 9th, in conjunction with the Federation for Children with Special Needs.
✿ The JCC Greater Boston will be hosting a six-week "Grandparenting During COVID" online support group for grandparents, beginning on December 2nd (more detais here).
✿ If you have a High School Senior heading to college next year, you may want to participate in an upcoming (online) FAFSA workshop which will assist you in filling out the Financial Aid application. Sessions will be held in English (Dec. 14th, Jan. 10th, and Feb. 11th) and in Spanish (Feb. 7th).
